Day 6 - First half

April 3 - First half of Day 6  (Post by Teresa Fields)

Hello Everybody!

This is my first time ever to be a blogger...so bear with me. Today is Tuesday and it is a beautiful morning on Providenciales. First I just wanted to share a photo of the view of the neighborhood from Kekette's house...this is what we see looking out all the back windows.

Behind Kekette's house.
We had spaghetti for breakfast (pasta with cheese and ham), and then headed off for the government ballpark for another morning of fun with our Haitian friends.  As you can see in the picture below, when we arrived the gate was locked and none of the security people had a key.

After a 30 minute wait, we decided to find our own way in.  This is one of the Haitian teenagers holding the fence up for me to crawl under!  Once we were all in, they found a pair of bolt cutters and cut the chain so our van could get in.

Sneaking under the fence!

Below are pictures of our morning at the soccer field. It was a nice breezy, sunny day. You'll see below, we took water breaks often because it was still very warm and we wanted to keep the kids hydrated.

Emmanuel - a four year old soccer player

Action shot! There's Bekah, Amira and Erin.

A happy goalie.

Bekah can keep up with the best of the Haitians. You go girl!

Erin is stylin' on the field...and she even scored!

Water break!

Mitch...our driver's son.  EVERYBODY loves Mitch.
He definitely has a servant's heart and he loves the Lord.

Justin and Abelson jammin' for Jesus at the goal.

I'm teaching Ashley how to use a twirly flag.
This afternoon we're off to the radio station for a broadcast of our favorite Bible characters.  We invited all the soccer players to tune in.  Then we'll go to visit a craft market and a tourist stop (a huge sink hole) before another afternoon of home visits...which we are all very excited to do.

That's all for now.  Keep praying for us!

  1. Awesome first blog, Teresa! I like all the pictures, especially the one of you sneaking under the fence. Sounds like you had a very busy day. I'm praying for you all.
